The problem of optical glass cleaning for optical microscopes
The problem of optical glass cleaning
Optical glass is used for lenses, prisms, lenses, etc. of instruments. In the process of manufacturing and use, it is easy to get oil stains, water stains, fingerprints, etc., which affect the imaging and light transmittance. To clean optical glass, you should choose different cleaning agents, use different cleaning tools, and choose different cleaning methods according to the characteristics of the dirt and different structures. When cleaning lenses with anti-reflection coatings such as cameras, slide projectors, and microscopes, they can be cleaned with about 20 percent alcohol and about 80 percent yi ether. To clean, use a soft brush or cotton ball with a small amount of detergent in a circular motion from the center of the lens outward. Do not clean such lenses by immersing them in detergent, and do not rub too hard when cleaning the lens, as this will damage the anti-reflective coating and damage the lens.
The method of cleaning the prism and the plane mirror can be carried out in the same way as the method of cleaning the lens.
Oil mist, water-wet mist and oil-water mixed mist on optical glass can also be cleaned by using the above cleaning agent. The cleaning method is similar to cleaning a lens.
Mold on the surface of optical glass is a common phenomenon. When optical glass gets moldy, light scatters across its surface, blurring the image. In severe cases, the instrument will be scrapped. The cause of mold on optical glass is mostly microbial spores attached to the surface. When the temperature and humidity are suitable and the "nutrients" required are available, it will grow rapidly and form mildew. It is especially important to prevent mildew and stains on optical glass. Once mildew occurs, it should be cleaned immediately
