Resolution of the multimeter

Resolution refers to the minimum change in the input signal that can make the output signal change. When the range of the DMM is reduced, the resolution will be improved. Regardless, you ultimately want your multimeter to display measurement readings at the best possible resolution. You can use this multimeter and choose the range that gives you the best resolution reading. Here is an example: use the 10V range to measure a 1.3V DC voltage signal, the reading is 1.30034V, and the resolution is 0.00001V. Change the range to 100V, the reading is 1.3004V, and the resolution is 0.0001V. As can be seen from this example, for this 1.3V measurement, selecting the 10V range provides higher resolution than the 100V range.
